Hoar Frost by Trigar Hoar Frost by Trigar
I'll never claim to be a spectacular photographer, but this is a picture I saw and couldn't resist taking and sharing :D This is a tree in my backyard covered with Hoar Frost. In fact, everything in town was covered in a very thick layer of hoar frost for a week. Caused all sorts of power outages cuz of the weight they added to the power lines etc. But it's oh so pretty!!! :D
Enjoy

Wow, nice shot. I've never seen hoar frost on a birch tree before, it looks beautiful. (At least, that looks like a birch >_<; )

Thank you! That tree is actually a weeping birch.

In that case I think weeping birches might be the only kind we have where I live. It's lovely.

I am so in love with this. I would like to morph through my computer screen and walk in this lovely whiteness. What a beautiful photograph!

Cool shot. I'm jealous that you get such pretty weather (just rains here).

I must say...I HATE the cold...but I would much rather snow than rain ;) Unless of course I live in some tropical spot and then I would rather the rain (which would probably be nice) rather than the cold! LOL

Wow, beautiful colours. I almost thought it was an infrared photo at first. :D It would be nicer if the shed wasn't in the background, but can't do much about that. =P :)

Great photo! Nice contrast of the sunny sky on the outline of the branches in shadow. Ice on trees is one of those magical images that seem very difficult to preserve. I guess because so much of it is the way our eyes perceive the light vs. our cameras. Even pro photographers have to get really lucky I suspect.
